$5 Million Gtd Venom Returns to ACR from April 30

Americas Cardroom is hosting the $5 million Gtd Venom PKO tournament again. The previous edition of this massive progressive knockout tournament earned the title of the biggest-ever PKO event in the history of online poker. Americas Cardroom wants to make this latest $5 million gtd Venom even bigger.

The $5 million Gtd Venom ran in November 2020, and was nothing short of huge. Some 2,711 entrants fuelled a record-breaking $6,777,500 prize pool. That colossal prize pool resulted in all but one of the eight finalists walking away with a six-figure prize!

Canadian pro Patrick “BorisRU1974” Tardif fell in eight for a combined score worth $72,324. Everyone else bagged at least $100,000 for their efforts.

Corey “Xazel303” Bogert netted $100,313, while “CoramDeo” collected $139,705. Fifth place and a cool $164,959 went to “grrp” with “ULoveToDonk” getting their hands on the $248,739 fourth-place prize.

Third place finisher “CheekySleek” reeled in a $414,153 prize, and sent the event heads-up. “pinguinachica” defeated “Crusher1991” one-on-one to become the $5 million Gtd Venom champion, and secured a $751,067 prize. The runner-up banked $570,401.

The prizes the $5 million Gtd Venom awards are massive. You do not even need to finish in the money places to profit because of the PKO format. Half the prize pool is awarded like in a traditional tournament, but the other 50% goes on the head of each player. Bust an opponent and you win half their bounty instantly. The other half goes onto your own bounty, making you a more attractive target. You only need to eliminate a couple of players and you are essentially freerolling towards a main prize pool prize.

Dates Confirmed For The Next Edition of the Venom

Americas Cardroom set the date for the second edition of the $5 million Gtd Venom. It features four starting flights held on April 30, May 2, May 7, and May 9. Day 2 takes place May 10 and lasts for eight hours. Make it through Day 2 and you progress to Day 3 on May 11 which continues until only eight players remain. Those eight finalists sit down on May 12 and battle it out for the title of $5 million Gtd Venom champion.

The tournament’s buy-in is the main stumbling block for the majority of our readers. You need $2,650 in your account to buy into this gargantuan PKO event. That is a lot of money to invest in a single tournament, which is why there are a plethora of satellites available.
