Katz, Imsirovic, and Zufic Win Aria High Roller Events

A trio of Aria High Roller events took place over the weekend and three superstars walked away with titles. Cary Katz, Ali Imsirovic, and Ivan Zufic triumphed in their respective Aria High Roller events, taking home a combined $464,940.

The first of the three Aria High Roller events cost $10,000 to enter and attracted 41 entries. Only the top six finishers shared the $410,000 prize pool. Ed Sebesta burst the money bubble at the hands of Michael Lang. Brian Rast opened to 24,000, Sebesta called in the small blind, and Lang called in the big blind. Both blinds checked to Rast on the Qc-8d-5d flop, and Rast bet 28,000. Sebesta check-raised to 60,000, which only Lang called.

Sebesta bet 50,000 on the Kc turn, and Lang called. The 6c completed the board, Sebesta bet 50,000, Lang raised to 225,000, only for Sebesta to shove. Lang called off the remaining 188,000 chips, and turned over 7d-4d for a straight. Sebesta flipped over Ac-As and he crashed out.

Alex Foxen finished in sixth when his Ad-7d failed to get there against lang’s Kc-Qs. Sean Perry was next out of the door, his As-Ts losing to the black jacks of Rast.

Jake Schindler and Lang fell by the wayside, leaving Rast heads-up against Katz. The latter held a four-to-one chip lead and did not take long to press home that advantage. The heads-up duo struck a deal based on their stack sizes for the remaining prize pool

Aria High Roller Series Event #1 Final Table Results

Imsirovic Wins Yet Another $10,000 Tournament

Event #2 of the Aria High Rollers Series was another $10,000 buy-in affair. Thirty-six players turned out for the tournament, and Imsirovic left them all in his wake.

Adedapo Ajayi and the legendary Daniel Negreanu were the final table’s first casualties. They walked away with scores of $18,000 and $28,800. In addition to those two stars busting, Sean Perry and Foxen bowed out, too. Perry’s exit was the tournament’s turning point. He and Imsirovic were all-in with exactly 885,000 stacks; Perry held Ac-Qd and Imsirovic Ah-Ks. The board ran Kd-4c-8s-2c-3d and Imsirovic now held the chip lead.

The Bosnian-American found himself heads-up against Jake Daniels. Imsirovic found As-Td when Damiel moved all-in for his short stack with king-four. A ten on the river sealed the deal and another major title for Imsirovic.

Zufic Takes Home Series’ Largest Score

Ivan Zufic added to his already glowing reputation with victory in the $15,000 Aria High Rollers event. Zufic has more than $6 million in online poker cashes, and now almost $1 million in the live poker world.

The Croatian came out on top of a 33-strong crowd to secure a $198,000 score. Zufic defeated Foxen heads-up after a brief one-on-one battle. Foxen open-shoved with 7h-7s and Zufic called with the inferior 5c-5s. However, a Jd-5h-3d flop turned the hand on its head. The 6c gave Foxen outs to a straight but the Tc missed him.

Prior to this short clash, Johan Guilbert, Negreanu, and Perry all busted and won between $34,650 and $79,200.
