Elio Fox Wins WPT Online Series Title

Elio Fox added the WPT Online Series Super High Roller title to his already impressive resume on May 15. The impressive victory takes Fox’s lifetime winnings from tournament poker soaring past $15 million.

Fox has almost won it all as a poker player. He’s secured high roller and super high roller titles in the live realm. He is one of the rare players to win a WSOP and WSOP Europe bracelet and his only accomplishments are also extremely impressive.

This latest victory is one of the most impressive of Fox’s career. Eighty-seven of the game’s elite grinders bought into the tournament for $25,500, creating a $2,175,000 prize pool.

Umut Kara is one man who wants to forget this event in a hurry. The man from Cyprus busted in 87th place and re-entered for another $25,500. He bust again in 82nd place, his $51,000 investment getting him less than an hour at the partypoker tables.

Others who failed to cash included Justin Bonomo, Alex Foxen, Ole Schemion, and Kahle Burns.

The bubble burst when Belarus’ Ilya Anatski crashed out in 14th place. Anatski’s exit secured a cash of at least $54,375 for the surviving players.

Elias Talvitie, Daniil Kiselev, Dario Sammartino and Linius Loeliger all finished in the money. Sam Greenwood, on his second bullet, fell in ninth and collected $65,250.

Fox Reaches Yet Another Major Final Table

All but two of the eight finalists walked away with six-figure prizes. Ukraine’s Andrii Novak was the first casualty of the final table, his eighth-place locking up $76,125. Chris Hunichen joined Novak on the rail, doing so with $87,000 reasons to be happy.

Sixth-place and the first six-figure prize of the event went to Timothy Adams. The Canadian Super High Roller specialist ran out of steam but still banked $108,750.

Ireland’s Mark Davis, a relative unknown in these circles, collected $152,250 for his fifth-place exit. Samuel Vousden of Finland saw his tournament end in a fourth-place finish worth $197,500. Vousden is on a tear right now having won a Poker Masters Online title last month.

Vousden’s fellow Finn, Pauli Ayras, racked up another impressive finish. His tournament ended abruptly in third-place, a finish good for a cool $282,750.

Ayras’ exit left Fox to battle with Day 1 chip leader Juan Pardo for the title. The difference in prize money as more than $160,000 yet the players carried on without a deal. This meant Pardo consoled himself with $402,375 when he fell in second-place. Fox banked $565,500 and the title of WPT Online Series champion, the largest score of his online career.

Fox Is A Multi-Table Tournament Genius

It’s difficult to find words to describe how good at MTTs Fox is. He already had a glowing reputation in the online poker world before bursting onto the live scene. His first recorded live cash is from April 2010. Fox finished 15th in a $5,000 buy-in event for $23,000.

The next five results are nothing short of remarkable. Fox won a $1,590 event in Las Vegas for $87,192, and won the $10,800 Bellagio Cup VII for $669,692. He cashed in the WPT Grand Prix de Paris before winning the 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event for €1,400,000 ($1,870,208).

Fox has gone on to win more than $9.8 million from live events and more than $5 million online. The New York native is the best player you may not have heard of!
