2019 Wynn Summer Classic Releases Event Schedule

Wynn Las Vegas's newly renovated and expanded poker room

The 2019 Wynn Summer Classic’s organizers announced its schedule of poker tournaments this year. The schedule runs concurrent to the first half of the 2019 World Series of Poker. Players who bust in the WSOP can play in a Summer Classic event before the next WSOP happens.

In contrast to the World Series of Poker, the Wynn Summer Classic takes place on the Las Vegas Strip.

A few events garner attention in the poker community regardless of what’s happening at the WSOP that week. The highlight event is the $1,600 No-Limit Hold’em Championship, set to begin on July 11-15. The prize pool now is a guaranteed $2 million, after the guaranteed prize pool was $1.5 million in 2018.

The $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event (June 11-13) is another player favorite. The $1100 buy-in tournament offers a $1.5 million prize pool. Tournament officials advise players to enter early, because the entry field filled up quickly over the past few years.

Top Events at 2019 Wynn Summer Classic

The $1,100 Pot-Limit Championship remains one of the biggest events of the year for card players who love pot-limit poker. The Wynn Pot-Limit Championships takes place on June 25-26 and has a prize pool of $500,000. The Ladies No-Limit Hold’em event also begins on June 25. The Ladies event’s buy-in is $400.

More experienced poker players enjoy the yearly $1,100 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em. This year, the seniors event launces on July 7 and guarantees a prize pool of $250,000. Most of the remaining schedule consists of events with $500 to $1,100 buy-in fees and prize pools up to $250,000.

Why Play Wynn Summer Classic Events?

The Wynn Summer Classic found success in the shadow of the World Series of Poker, which takes place every year across town at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Many top professional poker players sign up for WSOP in hopes of winning the Player of the Year standings, or at least adding one or more WSOP bracelets to their collection.

Those who don’t have as much success in the WSOP events sign up for a few Wynn Summer Classic events, hoping to hone their skills and find better luck on the Las Vegas Strip. The perception is it’s easier to beat the field in the Wynn poker events, because the top players gravitate towards the WSOP.

The prestige and notoreity exists at the World Series of Poker. The Wynn Summer Classic has smaller average prize pools, but boasts big guarnateed prize pools, respectable starting fields, and a change of pace from the crowd at the Rio Hotel.

2019 Wynn Summer Classic Tournament

The Wynn Summer Classic Tournament features 42 total events this year from May 30th to July 17th. The 2019 Wynn Summer Classic full schedule features several NLH Super Satellite events. Top finishers receive free entry into the NHL Championship.

Unlike the WSOP and the Orleans Summer Poker Series, organizers keep the rules simple. Call the Wynn Las Vegas resort and casino for additional details.
