One of the first questions asked by potential online poker players is: “How do I get paid fast when I win?” While the methods for cashing out vary from site to site, nearly all US poker sites offer paper check withdrawals, generally sent via courier, as well as several other methods that allow you to cash out electronically within a few days max. Bigger volume players usually get preferred treatment with wire transfers and other withdrawal methods.
Fast Cash-Out Sites
Most all sites offer money orders, checks, and bitcoin withdraws. Checks take an average of 4-13 days from the time they are requested to reach your home. The check method of withdrawing usually has no cost but takes longer. Money Orders, such as MoneyGram, will incur a fee on the cash-out amount but only takes 1-4 days. In most cases, bitcoin payouts are usually free and are received by players in 1-4 days.
March 2017: Fastest Paying U.S. Sites (Updated Monthly)
Currently Ranked Fastest: Betonline.ag – Payouts are taking approximately 3-4 days to reach players for money transfers, and for checks they are slightly longer at 6-12 days on average. Bank wires are taking 3-5 days to reach players, and within 72 hours for bitcoin withdrawals.
Currently Ranked 2nd Fastest: IgnitionPoker.eu (previously known as Bovada) – Current wait time for a check is 8-13 days to reach players depending on your location. They offer one (1) free check cash-out every four months, after that they charge $25-$50 per check. Another quick withdraw option of 1-2 days at a $50 fee is MoneyGram (they call it Rapid Transfer). Bank wires are taking 6-9 days and bitcoin payouts are taking 1-3 days to reach players.
Currently Ranked 3rd Fastest: TruePoker.eu – The quickest way to withdraw here is by MoneyGram which is taking 2-4 days to reach players, but costs 5%-10% of your cash-out. You can also withdraw by check which is being received by players in 4-11 days. The first check is free each month, after that it’s $65 a pop. Players are receiving bitcoin withdrawals within 1-3 days and prepaid debit cards are taking 72 hours.
CAUTION: We have been issuing a Red Flag Warning for FullFlushPoker.com for quite awhile. They went offline on October 1, 2016, and it’s looking like they will be shut down for good. Players were not receiving checks or bank wires after requesting them 13-15+ months prior to them closing. We are also not recommending any sites on the Merge Gaming Network which consists of Carbon Poker, Sportsbook.ag and Players Only. As of around May 31, 2016 they are not accepting new USA players, and withdrawal speeds are slow.
Cashing-Out Via MoneyGram
Ignition Poker is personally our favorite site for cash-outs. If you’ve read other pages on our website, such as our MoneyGram page, you’ll know we are big fans of privacy. While there are fees charged for it, Ignition offers very quick transfers through the two largest money transfer services, MoneyGram being one of them. By using this method, you can avoid risking banking relationships, as banks are not keen on gambling transactions, and you can also benefit from a delivery method which puts cash in your hands in 1-2 days of the requested withdrawal.
For those who are not as concerned as we are with the benefits money transfers provide, IgnitionPoker.eu also offers one free check by courier every four months as well as wire transfer withdrawals for a $50 flat fee – upon special request.
Which US Poker Sites are Difficult to Cash-Out of?
Pretty much all the ones we haven’t already mentioned are poker sites with at least some issues when it comes to withdrawals. At some sites this might be the lack of methods available to US players, and at other sites this might mean they simply don’t have money to pay their players. One site that falls under the category of not having enough viable options to cash-out is BetCoin Poker. Here, you can only cash-out via bitcoin and it’s taking quite some time to receive; up to 14 days. An example of a site/network with poor payout speeds is the Merge Gaming Network (Carbon Poker, Sportsbook.ag, and Players Only). While these sites offer a plethora of banking options, check and bank wire withdrawal requests are taking up to 3-4 weeks to receive. If you need fast cash-outs stick to the poker sites mentioned above, or PokerStars.com if you live outside the US, as these are truly the best in the industry for getting players their money fast and without slow-pay.
Note: it is also possible to cash-out at some sites via ewallets. To learn about ewallets at US poker sites, read our page on banking options.
